The O-ring is originally an extremely precise part with a very high dimensional accuracy, but is now also widely used outside the target group for which it was developed. Due to its small installation dimensions and relatively low price, the O-ring can be fitted just about anywhere. For technology, the O-ring is basically intended as a static seal, but it can also be used dynamically at low pressures and lower shear speeds. Pressure In static application, the permissible pressure is almost unlimited if the groove construction is designed to prevent extrusion.
The hardness of the O-ring also affects its function. At a lower pressure, a softer quality is better than the 90 shore O-ring. At a pressure above 100 bar, we recommend using a back-up ring. Lubrication In dynamic application, the O-ring wears out quickly if no lubrication is applied. In pneumatic application, the O-ring should be greased and the groove should also be filled with grease. In hydraulic application, the fluid often provides sufficient lubrication itself. In static applications, any lubrication only serves to simplify assembly and disassembly.
Product Features; Min.Temp:-40 Celsius; Max.Temp:+160 Celsius; Material: EPDM; EPDM rubber is highly resistant to acids, brake fluid, bases and hot water. In addition, it is ozone and UV resistant. This material is not suitable for applications with fats and mineral and animal oils.
